Not going to lie to you people, but my life is a little hectic these days. That’s actually a serious understatement, but if you know me at all you’re totally aware that I’m not one to complain about being a little busy. In general, a hectic schedule comes with the territory of being a PR girl. The running joke in our world is that we actually function on an i.v drip of caffein and I’m in no position to deny that. If I’m not chugging coffee, I have a diet coke perpetually attached to my hand just because it’s the one thing that gives me the kick in the ass I need to #GetShitDone …particularly when I’d rather just curl up into the fetal position in my comforter on my bed. We’ve all been there.
With a whole host of events happening over the next few months, I wanted to share the excitement and give you guys a glimpse into what it’s like to be me for a day. Obviously, this is going to be a heavily edited version of my life because who doesn’t lie on the Internet (full disclosure here) but I kind of feel like I don’t need to share every dirty deet about my day-to-day… if you really care though, follow me on Snapchat (VictoriaSneden). I do the daily vlogging thing over there and I’m making a conscious effort to snap a little more regularly…particularly when I find myself doing something actually worth snapping!
Anyway, let’s get right into it!
Hit the snooze button. Nobody actually wakes up this early.
Wake up, breathe the day. Hit the shower, skip washing my hair because ain’t nobody got time for that. Grab coffee that I hopefully remembered to delay brew the night before. Get in the car, drive to work.
Cue road rage at the people who have no idea how to use a crosswalk in Jersey City. I can’t even.
Showtime, people. Answer emails, send out a daily report, fill product requests, avoid the junk food that’s inevitably in the office kitchen brought back from the behind the scenes of the QVC set, watch YouTube videos, track placement hits, brag that Meghan Rienks is a total IT Girl to the world.
First meeting of the day, starts late. Typical. Discuss upcoming events and concept mailers for new product launches. Brainstorm with the team, freak out about looming deadlines that I’m not nearly prepared for. Get it together quickly. Whew.
Lunch before I get hangry. Pop my tupperware into the microwave. Eat at my desk while watching more YouTube videos.
Second meeting of the day with the social team to brainstorm YouTube launch collaboration. Get excited. Get nervous. Walk away terrified that upper management won’t approve my fabulous collab idea that could literally BREAK the Internet.
More emails, more product requests. Scout locations for a press event in New York City, call about availability and have a meltdown when every single place is booked on the day that I want.
Grab coffee with a coworker who just moved to NYC. Go for a walk around Newport and enjoy the view of the Freedom Tower. Bask in how lucky I am and how #blessed I am to have a job that I love. Take a moment to breathe.
Close up shop for the day. Check email one last time, lay out my to-do list for tomorrow. Grab my now-empty coffee cup and hit the garage to drive home. Consider stopping at the gym. Rethink life choices and say that I’ll start working out tomorrow.
Walk through the door, feed Hana. Change into comfy clothes and start cooking dinner. Turn on the TV. Blog if I’m feeling motivated.
HQ comes home, eat dinner together on the couch while watching Bravo. Relax
BED!!!! Knock out for a solid 9 hours before waking up and doing it all over again.
What’s your favorite part of your day?
