I’m going to be 100% real and admit that I totally missed the SAG Awards last night.
My Twitter was blowing up and I completely chose to go stuff my face with dinner instead of live-tweeting and watching. Do I regret it? Eh, I’m not a huge SAG Awards fan (I’m all about the Golden Globes) so I wasn’t heartbroken. Instead, I settled myself down with a big cup of homemade hot chocolate and started scrolling through my feeds to see what I missed post-meal. Significantly more fun, in my opinion.
From what I can tell, the red carpet was all over the place. One trend I was able to pick up? White! White was EVERYWHERE:
Oh and my god, can we stop and talk about Jen Aniston?
I refuse to believe this woman is over 40. What? I’ll have what she’s having, thanks. She hasn’t aged at all since her time on Friends and that just isn’t fair. Her vintage gold Galliano dress was absolutely stunning and complimented with gorgeous Fred Leighton jewels. And shout out to her for making life on the red carpet awkward for Maria Menounos by shooting down the “Mani Cam” opportunity…that thing is so 2013 anyway.
Like I was saying, Viola Davis looked like a vision in white on the red carpet in a custom-made Max Mara dress. I love how this particular style shows off her perfect figure (her shoulders, gimme whatever arm workout she’s doing) and her glowing skin.
We all know that Sofia Vergara is basically my spirit animal, so when I saw her latest bombshell look in Donna Karan, I died. Her figure is literally too much for me to handle and I love how she looks in red. The only part of this look I’m not totally sold on is her hair color. I’m not really sure how I dig the blonde look on her, I’m a little more partial to her dark roots. Thoughts?
She may have gotten a little bit of flak at the Golden Globes for not looking as radiant as usual, but Lupita Nyong’o turned it up on the SAG red carpet in a stunning Elie Saab. The hints of color looked great on her glowing skin, and I love how her makeup artist gave her a colorful lip to tie the whole look together. Obsessed with the long sleeves too.
Camila Alves also wore a gorgous Donna Karan dress in a dark eggplant color. I love how all of the curvier women aren’t afraid to hide their shapes when on the red carpet, and adding in a rich color like purple or red only adds to enhancing the overall look.
Of course these aren’t the only stunning looks ripped from the carpet, but these are the ones that I couldn’t get off my Twitter feed and they’re the one’s that I fell in love with. And of course, this wouldn’t be a Best Dressed list without a few honorable mentions:
Emmy Rossum in Armani Prive
Emma Stone in Dior
To all of those who actually watched,
what did I miss?
